The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and the temperatures are warming up. Spring is here and we couldn’t be more excited! Get a head start on your spring cleaning and wipe the winter blues away with these tips.

Clean Room-by-Room

With multiple surfaces, drawers, closets, and more to clean and organize throughout your home, the thought of spring cleaning can seem daunting. By breaking up your cleaning room-by-room, the process of deep cleaning your space is much less overwhelming. Cleaning room-by-room also makes it easier to remember where you left off cleaning when you take a break!

Organize and Clear the Clutter

When most people think about spring cleaning, they focus on some of the tasks they haven’t gotten to in a while: dusting, polishing, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping. Although doing all of these things will keep your home looking and feeling fresh, focusing on organizing and clearing out any clutter will make it feel that much better! Donate and recycle the items you no longer need or want and organize the items that haven’t had a home in months.

Not sure what to do with the items you don’t necessarily need but don’t want to throw away? Sell them!

Don’t Purchase Too Many Cleaning Products

The household cleaner aisle at the store can be overwhelming and lead you to purchase several different products, but that just means having to organize and store more bottles. Instead, keep things simple. Opt for a good all-purpose cleaner, some microfiber towels, a tough bathroom cleaner, and a new mop.

Establish New Cleaning Habits

Now that your space is sparkling clean, it’s easy to pick up on a new cleaning habits that will keep your space looking its best all year. Set aside 15-minutes each day to do a quick cleanup of your space whether that means putting the laundry away, wiping down surfaces, or vacuuming!

Involve Your Family

Spring cleaning might seem much easier when your family is at work or school for the day but try to get them involved in the cleaning process, even if it’s just one room! If your family is reluctant to help, come up with a reward to enjoy together once the task is completed and throw on some music to make the process go by quicker.
